This Ride!
We took off real fast...hit a crescendo in 10 seconds flat...At the peak, my heart pounds in anticipation of what was to come...I looked down, closed my eyes...held on tight.
I felt the rushing wind in my ears as we dropped...falling...falling...falling for what seemed like forever...I heard the laughter of others and am reminded to enjoy myself...
We twisted...we turned...at times I nearly left my seat...Yet I continued to hold on tight...stomach in knots...heartbeat racing...screams held back, their release denied - some things I must keep inside!
I feel my body jerk forward as we slam to a stop...my eyes snap open and I ask is that it? Is that the finale of the long-awaited build up? The wait was long...the anticipation, longer - and now it's over?
